This was an out of hours install, and required fitting ChemSet bolts into the 150+ year old walls! When you’re working on an UNESCO World Heritage Site, taking the greatest care is a no brainier, and we’re proud to have worked in such an iconic part of WA’s history.
Fremantle Prison was built as a convict barracks in the 19th century and remained in continual use until 1991. The Prison was a place of hangings, floggings, dramatic convict escapes and prisoner riots. Inmates included imperial convicts, colonial prisoners, enemy aliens, prisoners of war and maximum-security detainees. The prison is now one of Fremantle and the Western Australia’s most popular tourist attractions.
